Good enough for the professionals, good enough for us, Morgan Blue's Race Oil is long-lasting high quality chain lube.
Morgan Blue is a Belgian company specialising in lubes, oils and cleaners, and is well regarded by the mechanics of many professional cycling teams. First launched in 1994, the company was founded by Nick Vandecauter, who was a mechanic at the Lotto team and asked by the team to develop a chain lube. Today Morgan Blue claim some 80% of the pro teams using their products.
A good lube is essential to keep your chain running sweetly. Left to run dry, the chain will eventually become squeaky and will wear out prematurely if left unattended. A good quality lube, such as this Race Oil, will ensure optimum mechanical efficiency, quietness and prolonged durability.
I've been using this Race Oil for the last couple of months with several hundred weekly miles ridden on the same drivetrain, and can report that it has proved more than adequate. Firstly, it's easy to apply, with a small nozzle and the viscosity of the lube providing a good flow rate for precision application. The lube doesn't drip from the chain, it sticks fast, and it isn't necessary to wipe away the excess. I only apply a small amount to lube to the chain, rather than drowning it.
Applied in the correct manner, the Race Oil provides decent mileage before reapplication is necessary. The lube has worked well in a range of weather conditions, including through the very dry spell recently and the wet weather previously, and in both situations excelled. There's often debate about the merits of wet versus dry lubes, the fact is wet lubes just last longer.
Some wet lubes can attract lots of dirt from the road, Race Oil doesn't, and stays clean despite heavy mileage through mucky country lanes. I prefer regular cleaning and degreasing of my drivetrain and not allowing much lube and dirt to accumulate.
High quality chain lube that goes the distance.

Race Oil is suitable for use after having cleaned the chain and drivetrain with Chain Cleaner. Use Race Oil for general lubrication applications too.
Tell us some more about the technical aspects of the product?
Use RACE OIL ROAD to lubricate the chain, gear and other moving parts. The lubricant penetrates immediately and does not flow from the chain when applied. Suited for use after having cleaned the chain and gear with Morgan Blue Chain Cleaner. Apply 1 hour before use for best results (this gives the solvent time to vaporise). Shake well before use. Resists high pressure. Efficient for a long period. Extremely low friction. Penetrates fast in the chain. Excellent adhesion to metallic surfaces, does not drain/drip from the chain. Resists high speed sling-off. Repels dirt. Constant lubrication properties in cold and hot conditions.
It's a top quality chain lube that lasts well.
Excellent. In a range of conditions the lube did the job and the intervals between re-lubing were impressive, despite some high mileage this summer.
Yup, very good.
Considering the longevity of the lube the bottle will last a very long time.
